McKenzie River Trail

October 15, 2000

A really nice fall hike on the McKenzie River Trail. We went in on the highway near Clear Lake and hiked down to Trail Bridge Reservoir. The day was cool, overcast with occasional sunshine. The falls were spectacular, the fall colors on the trees were beautiful. Jerold Williams (author of “A Foot in Lane County”), led the group, setting a nice, leisurely pace. I said it was only 7½ miles long so we didn’t need to run … and we didn’t. We ate lunch at Tamolitch Pool. The incredible blue of the water never fails to amaze us all. Marion was our resident mushroom expert. An altogether nice Fall day with a nice group of people consisting of Yuan Hopkins, Helen Liguori, Margaret Malsch, Lucille Peterson, Barb Sutherland, Marion West, Jan Wright, Jerry Brindle, Chris Cunningham, Tina Rain, Jerold Williams and Sharon Ritchie (¿leader?).
