Our group of seven headed up to Maiden Peak even though the weather was marginal.
The good news was that no one was there: we had the whole mountain to ourselves.
The bad news was that we saw no view from the top because of fog. I think it is safe to
say we had a good work out and Maiden Lake is a real “jewel” to see.
The Forest Service needs to mark the path better at the top; it is easy to lose your
way on the rocky areas. Some signage where our trail runs into the “blue diamond”
trail on the other side of Maiden Peak would be helpful.
The seven hikers were Richard Sundt, Dick Hildreth, Tim Shinabarger, Sandra Larsen,
Eric Miller, Wally Adrian and J. Scott Hovis (leader).
