Black Crater

Is Black Crater getting steeper or are some of us getting older? Even experienced hikers were doing some huffing and puffing on the way up. Once at the top, everyone was rewarded with clear views. We gathered at one of the two high outcroppings for lunch. At the end of lunch, the leader pulled a large bunch of grapes from his pack and passed them around. They were still cool from being well wrapped for the trip. A minimum of bugs, a minimum of wild flowers, a minimum of snow, but still a good hike for Max Brown, Ann Galuska, Maggie Gontrum, Yuan Hopkins, Akira Ozaki, Barbara Shomaker, Karl Sokol, Michelle Tambellini, Jan Wright and Richard Heinzkill, leader.
