Ridgeline TrailJune 6, 2000We met at the Amazon Community Center parking lot. They allowed us to use their restrooms which some of us took advantage of since there are none on the Ridgeline Trail. We then took the Fox Hollow bus to the end of the line and walked up Fox Hollow Road for .8 mile to the trailhead on the right. We followed the trail for 1.8 miles to Willamette Street then returned by the same route. Trail maintenance workers have done a lot of work in recent weeks, packing gravel into the muddy spots so we had a mostly dry trail. We found a long log with a view for our lunch stop. The weather was good in that we didn’t get rained on and it wasn’t hot, though it’s a little humid under the trees this time of year. We had a good close-up view of a hairy woodpecker who was working on a tree just a few feet from the trail. Hikers were non-members Jane Dods and Barbara Sutherland and Obsidians Elliot Aronin; Richard Hildreth, Yuan Hopkins, Herb Lee and Nola Shurtleff, leader. |
