Sweet Creek Falls Trail

Hiking on a misty spring day can be enchanting, especially in a lush forest. Sweet Creek was roaring over numerous falls and moisture was dripping off the trees and moss. We had to carefully pick our way through the many newts that were scattered over the trail. Wrens, dippers and a woodpecker plus dozens of rhododendrons and wild flowers added to our enjoyment. Located near Mapleton, Sweet Creek is enjoyed by fishermen and hikers. Those braving the threat of rain to hike anyway were Carol Armstrong, Teresita Ladd and Sylvia Harvey (leader).
