Fuji Shelter

December 14, 1999

Deep snow made for a slow trip to the shelter. It was 1:00 by the time we reached the shelter for a quick lunch. Although there were no views, it was a comfortable trip except for the wind and falling snow on the upper part. It was interesting to observe how skis worked in these condttions. In exposed areas, when one was leading, narrow skis sank down and stuck in the snow. Those on narrow skis had a faster trip down. Skiers were Lynette Boone, Don Ladigin, Sandra Larsen, Norma Lockyear, Sharon Ritchie, Clare Tucker, Max Vollmer and leaders Jane Hackett & Janet Jacobsen.
