Sand MountainFebruary 27, 1999Sand Mountain, a fine road ski, is best attempted in good weather when views of the surrounding mountains can be fully appreciated. We decided to ski in the midst of a steady rain. After a quick group conference huddled at the base of Sand Mountain, we decided to skip the summit and return to the trailhead. Everyone agreed it was good to “stretch our legs” despite the poor conditions. Our group consisted of Chris & Trevor Steele, Joel Narva, Mari Baldwin, Sue Wolling and trip leader Sam Miller. |
