And we had SUNSHINE — very welcome after a rainy week in Eugene.
We were also rewarded with a lot of new snow.
We experienced snowshoeing at its best.
We broke trail by taking turns in the lead.
Trail-finding was an adventure, as there were no tracks to follow.
We did not make our destination, rather we let the clock tell us when to turn around.
A memorable part of the day was a side trip up a sizable slope.
We had wonderful views of Odell Lake and the surrounding mountains.
And then, those who were able, had fun running, and taking plunge steps down the hill.
We were in the parking lot getting ready to return to Eugene when the snow began again.
We were fortunate to be down, off the mountain before there was serious accumulation.
We (Ellen Leinbach, Sue Peterson, Karen & Lucy Rayle and trip leader Barbara Bruns)
arrived safely back in Eugene.
