Fawn Lake

August 25, 1999

Seven happy hikers met at the SEHS park blocks for the trip to Fawn Lake beginning at the east end of Odell Lake. The day was beautiful — not too hot — and the mosquitoes weren’t particularly hungry. After the 80-minute hike, some took a cool dip in the lake while others lunched and soaked their feet. Luckily, the restaurant at Odell Lake Lodge was open for business and most indulged in pie and ice cream. There were some delays from road construction on the Pass, but otherwise the trip back to the heavy smog of Eugene was uneventful. Hikers were Obsidians Benton Elliott, Joe Scheibe, Susan Baker, Dick Hildreth and Peggy Lee Mathes (leader). Also present were Krystyne Marston and daughter Dagmara.
