Eula RidgeJuly 18, 1999Richard, Mark, Norma and Van all made the summit of Hardesty Mountain. There is more debris on the Eula Ridge Trail than on Hardesty Mountain trail as it is not used as often. There is an old fire lookout tower site on top. Mark remarked that horses must have hauled the concrete blocks up that were used in the foundation of the tower. To go back the group decided that the leader would return by way of Eula Ridge to get the vehicle and the rest of the group would proceed down the Hardesty Mountain trail. The forested area kept everyone cooler on a warm day. Hikers were Richard Sundt, Mark Hanson, Norma Bengrat and Van Likes (leader). |
