Rebel Rock LoopJune 26, 1999Another great loop trip: Mild weather and a great group. However, the “no show” rate was over 50%. The remaining “lucky ones” all had a great time [!?] That may be pushing reality, but we all made the famous (infamous?) loop to any event. Surprisingly, we didn't hit snow until the 5-mile junction. For about two miles we had deep snow, but it posed no problems. The good news was that the cross-country section, including the Rebel Rock area, was all snow-free. Heavy snow at the base of Rebel would have rendered that section “difficult” to “no go” And, finally, the last four miles are still downhill all the way. Hikers were: Becky Hansen, Peggy Lee Mathes, Bennette Rauch and Ed Lovegren, leader. |
