McKenzie River TrailJune 13, 1999The trip was changed from the planned Canyon Creek Meadows because the Forest Service reported deep snow there. The cooperative group agreed to do the McKenzie River Trail from Tamolitch Pool to Sahalie Falls, with a car shuttle allowing us to go only one way. With two members, leader Anne McLucas and Nola Shurtleff, and six enthusiastic non-members — Bob Herman, Wendy Clarke, Michelle Tambellini, Cori Kalez, John Heady, Tamie Marioni and her ten-month-old son Miguel — we made our way up the beautiful McKenzie, enjoying the late-blooming calypso orchids, trillium as well as wild rhododendrons and dogwood on the way. Lunch was by the waterfall. |
