Oregon History Center; Pittock Mansion

May 6, 1999

Arriving in Portland at 10:00 a.m., we enjoyed about two hours at the Oregon History Center, where the Ivan Collins display of Miniature Wagons are being shown until the end of the year. We lunched in Washington Park near the Rose Gardens. Then a visit to the famous landmark, the Pittock Mansion, for a rewarding tour. Unanticipated construction projects at both Washington Park and the Pittock Mansion were overcome by our expert driver, Winston Kyser of Experience Oregon. The rain held off until we boarded the bus for home.

Riders were: Ethel Allen, Ewart Baldwin, Mary Bridgeman, Ingrid Carmichael, Dora Harris, Margaret Hegberg, Jean Jensen, Rosella Jones, Helen Knowlton, Dodie Leppmann, John & Lenore McManigal, Barbara & Walt Miller, Joyce Mixer, Frances Newsom, Muriel Parker, Liz Reanier, Edna Robertson, June Smith, Janet Speelman, Louise Thurber, Ellen Tracy, Mildred Weatherby and leader Ray Jensen.
