Potato HillJanuary 12, 1998Eight avid cross-country skiers braved icy winds and heavy snow on Potato Hill (Jack Pine Road). We all took turns breaking trail, but Renata took more turns, and longer ones. She’s a great person to have along! After a hard slog up the hill, we enjoyed a quick lunch and then a marvelous slide down in lovely fresh powder. Joyce and Sharon were the two drivers; we had to thaw the locks on our ski racks before we could get the skis off the cars. The people with manual bindings had problems with icing. When we returned to the cars the temperature was 16° F. The eight hardy skiers were nonmembers Renata Walker and Eric Miller and Obsidians Sandra Larsen, Helen Liguori, Chuck Mitchell, Clare Tucker, Sharon Ritchie and leader Joyce Owen. |
