Tam McArthur Rim
September 12, 1998
We left the SEHS parking lot at 7:30 am and didn’t get back until nearly 8:00 pm.
This quartet of hikers thoroughly enjoyed themselves during along, beautiful day.
Unbelievably there was only one other car there when we arrived at the trailhead
at lovely Three Creek Lake.
We ascended to the top of Tam McArthur Rim and then proceeded to the promontory
lookout for lunch, but not before we lost track of one of the group who took one
of the alternative trails that criss-cross the area to get to the lunch spot.
After lunch, two of the group continued on all the way to the base of Broken Top,
while the other two stopped shortly after the snow field to enjoy the view of
Broken Top and South Sister.
For Carol Isaacson and Bob Boeving this was their first Obsidian hike,
and they were impressed by the views (all the way up to Mt. Adams).
The remaining two hikers were Obsidians Rita Johnson and trip leader Richard Heinzkill.
