Conditions were ideal for this four-mile hike (passing three waterfalls) to Vivian Lake.
The weather was perfect and the highway traffic light.
Highlight of the hike was the presence of eight first-Obsidian-hike-ever people.
We moved easily to the lake in a very congenial, cohesive group in 2 hrs. 10 min.
Not a ripple on the lake; Maggie and Deborah swam.
After lunching and lazing in the sun for an hour or so, we bid a reluctant farewell to the lake
and did an easy return to the Salt Creek Falls area.
First-ever hikers were Amy Camp, Mathew Goslin, Marilyn & Larry Flick, Connie Hanson,
Melinda Reeder, Deborah Sane and Brian Wanty.
Obsidians were Kurt Cyrus, Maggie Gontrum and trip leader Marc Hansen.
