Rebel Rock/Rebel Creek (Loop)July 19, 1998The sun and air were hot, even at the top of the Rebel Rock/Rebel Creek loop hike. The trail has not been maintained, but the Blue River Ranger District promises this will occur soon. No impossible conditions were encountered, just the inconvenience of deadfalls and not much of that. Not all the hikers were moving at the same pace, with the effect that the group was on the trail for seven hours. At the end, all seemed pleased with the effort. The wild flowers in the meadows at the top of the loop were still spectacular, and views of the Sisters, etc., were excellent. Hikers were Mike Ledet, Melinda Barre, Connie Hansen, Kurt Cyrus, Margie Riggs, Doug Quirk and Jerry Casby (leader). |
