Canyon Creek MeadowsJuly 18, 1998We had the perfect hiking day, with blue skies, a cooling breeze and a compatible group. After reaching the high meadow below Three-Fingered Jack at about 12:30, most of the group wanted to go on up to the ridge for lunch, so all but three of us made the steep trek and were well rewarded with views in all directions. Some glissaded down the snowfields, and we all returned via the loop, hiking past beaver ponds back to the cars. We met several other Obsidians hiking up in another group. Our group consisted of Max Brown, Carla McNelly, Sue Peterson, Mary Ann Hastings, Bob Lemon, Don Ladigin, Dan Bates, Richard Sundt, Nola Shurtleff, Marc Hansen, Bev Woods and Anne Dhu McLucas, leader. |
