Brice Creek

It doesn’t get any better than this — a perfect day, beautiful scenery and great hiking companions. We left the SEHS parking lot at 9:00 a.m. for the drive to Brice Creek, 20 miles east of Cottage Grove. We had the trail almost to ourselves so we had ample opportunity to listen to the birds singing and take in wonderful views of cascading waterfalls and pools of deep, clear water. We had lunch at the turnaround with two of us choosing to watch the water go sparkling by, and two decided to eat their lunch in a clearing of wild flowers. Hikers were Damien Lukton, wannabe Obsidian Laura Slemp, with members Lucile Peterson and Joanne Ledet, leader.
