Pool, Salt & Diamond Creek Falls
June 12, 1998
The trip began with a drive up Hills Creek Road (FS Rd. 23) to Pool Creek.
A very short hike, with ten switchbacks, through a magnificent stand of very large trees
took us to a graceful waterfall in a rugged rocky basin.
Our trail took us to the base of a cliff from where we could stand behind the waterfall.
From Pool Creek we took FS Rd. 5875 to the crest of Kitson Ridge, from where we had views of
the Warrior Creek fire area.
Then we drove to the Salt Creek Falls rest area where we ate lunch and visited the waterfall.
We then followed a three-mile loop trail which took us to the base of Diamond Creek Falls
and then to a high viewpoint.
We ended the trip with a short drive to a viewpoint of snow-clad Diamond Peak.
Trip members were Dorothy Dunn, Elliot & Priscilla Aronin, Max Brown, Mary Millman,
Susan & Tim Forester, Eric Miller, Neil Van Horn, Helen Liguori, Bev Andrews
and leader Jean Ridone.
