“Riding in the rain … Getting soaking wet! Fun was had by all …
It’s a trip we’ll not forget.”
A group of four Obsidians left our cars in Scio and began our bicycle trip at 10:00 a.m.
The first 20 miles including Ridge Road and a wonderful two-mile downhill were dry and cool.
We enjoyed the view at Hannah covered bridge and the wild flowers on the way to Shimanek
At this point we saw the dark gray sky and felt a few drops of rain.
We were pretty wet by the time we reached our lunch stop at Larwood covered bridge.
We had a dry spell for lunch and for the next six miles, but rain came again and we decided
to take the short route back to Scio.
Total miles were 37 instead of the 47 planned and we missed seeing two more covered bridges.
Happy, hardy, wet riders were Gayle Berge, Bob Devine, Barbara Bruns and leader Norma Lockyear.
