Drift Creek

After signs of threatening weather, the day turned out bright and sunny for this pleasant, 2,000-ft. descent to Drift Creek (east of Waldport). Members of the party found their own pace on the climb back up, but all seemed to enjoy this somewhat unusual spot with its mix of old growth forest and a remote and beautiful stream. Hikers were Elliot Aronin, Dick & Lucy Rayle, Jeff Beckworth, Nancy O'Neill, Ian Smith, Janet Devereaux, Rebecca Hansen and leader Pete Suttmeier.
