Scott Mountain TrailJuly 11, 1998At the McKenzie Ranger Station we received instructions about needed maintenance on the Scott Mountain Trail. We were to trim brush, remove limbs, pick up garbage and cut exotic vegetation at the summit. Garbage was almost non-existent and we couldn’t find any exotic vegetation. We had a fairly easy day even though the last mile of trail was covered with packed snow 3 ft. deep. The sun shone brightly. The view on top was superb, with clouds swirling around the summits of the Three Sisters. I swam at Tenas Lakes, where the water was surprisingly pleasant. Scott Mt. trail crew consisted of Elliot Aronin (who on the previous day had celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary), Max Brown, Royal Murdock and leader Dave Predeek. |
