Fawn LakeFebruary 8, 1997The snow conditions to Fawn Lake, in the Diamond Peak Wilderness, were perfect: about three inches of new snow on a firm base. We skied in from the Crescent Lake side. Downed trees and a few steep spots made the trail a challenge for a few of the party, but no one complained and everyone had a good time. The weather also co-operated — mixed sunshine and temperatures in the low 30s. A perfect Cascade day! Skiers were Genie Currier, Mike Landes, Deborah Carter, Nonie Mansfield, Maggie Gontrum, Doug Nelson and John Pegg, leader. |
