Arrowhead LakeJanuary 18, 1997The highway was covered with black ice as we approached Willamette Pass and a couple of vehicles were in the ditch. The ski trails were icy but the snow softened as the day progressed and the skiing was good. We had lunch at Midnight Lake with the usual flock of “camp robbers” begging for handouts. Five of our group of seven continued up the trail to Arrowhead Lake. At the creeks the snow was washed away and there was a confused maze of detour trails. On the way back we got temporarily lost and had to follow a compass course back to Midnight Lake. Enjoying the good skiing weather were Janet Hall, John Hegg, Dick Hildreth, Kris Kennedy, Joshua Ladau, Harold Thompson and trip leader Dave Predeek. |
