Green LakesAugust 23, 1997Another glorious trip to Green Lakes! The seven of us made our way up Fall Creek through the trees and forest. South Sister was enveloped in clouds as we started up but by the time we reached the lakes it was clear, sunny and very warm. All along the way there were plenty of lupine and yellow composites. As we came out of the forest we walked through the canyon that has meadow lands on one side and on the other side of the creek is a massive lava flow and boulders of obsidian. After having a very pleasant lunch break, we headed back to civilization. Refreshed, renewed. All in all, a good time was had by Richard Heinzkill, Sandy & Chuck Reul, nonmembers Jackie Bryson, Dick Hagen & Alice Pueschner and trip leader Judith Sladek. |
