Mary’s PeakApril 18, 1997In three carloads we reached the East Ridge trailhead on an overcast and sometimes drizzly morning. The trail climbed relentlessly, leading us to the fogged-in and view-less summit. After lunch, we returned on a loop by taking a portion of the North Trail and then the Tie-in Trail. Instead of great vistas, we were treated to unusual views of forest trees silhouetted against a foggy backdrop. Hikers on this trip were Dixie Minkler, Will Ogren, Mary Millman, Elliot Aronin, Ralph Olive, Heiner Wagoner, Wendy Clarke, Dick & Lucy Rayle, Jack O'Leary, Ivan Vandeberg, Gloria Gunderson, Nola Shurtleff and leader Jean Ridone. |
