Rabbit EarsApril 13, 1997Rain,! Rain! Rain! Rita and Scott showed up on a rainy Saturday to join Sandy and I on the Rabbit Ears hike. We drove the 40 miles to the Trout Creek trailhead. We climbed 1,000 ft. and 3.2 miles through a light to medium rain to Rooster Rock. Despite rain gear we were all fairly wet. I made the decision not to continue to Rabbit Ears and the exposed ridge next to it. We ate a hurried lunch squeezed into a dry cleft in Rooster Rock. The return hike was swift, as we all looked forward to the dry car. Hikers were all Obsidians: Rita Johnson, Scott Hovis and Sandy & Chuck Reul (leader). |
