Shotgun Creek can at times be extremely muddy.
Because of our below-freezing weather and the ground being so cold, this wasn’t
a problem on the trip.
There were patches of ice and snow, but we easily avoided them.
The only obstacle was the number of downed trees across the trail.
The hike went very smoothly: the weather was cold but clear, and the scenery beautiful.
We were lucky that this hike took place, because the Shotgun Creek park had been closed all
winter and had just opened two days previously.
Hikers were Dick & Lucy Rayle, Wendy Clarke, Gerry Roe, Sandra Lewis and Gary Marx (trip leader).
