Green Lakes/Soda Creek

Seven Obsidians enjoyed a delightful hike that is in three nearly equal parts. These parts, however, are considerably different in character. We began at the Falls Creek trailhead and walked up along 20 or so falls and a large cream colored obsidian wall to Green Lakes. Lunched atop a knob overlooking the lake. After lunch we completed the second and third segments of the hike. The second is primarily on the shoulder of Broken Top with impressive views. The third portion is downhill through continuous forest to the Soda Creek trailhead. A great hike but a long drive to get there. Hikers were Doris Allen, Dan Bates, Max Brown, Dick Hildreth, Margaret Malsch, Virginia Prouty and leader Ben Jeffries.
