Winberry DivideJuly 6, 1996Advised by the Oakridge Ranger that the Vivian Trail was likely littered with downed trees, the trip was switched to Winberry Divide. The trail follows the ridgeline between the Willamette River and Winberry Creek, though neither are visible. The trail is in good condition. Wildflowers we enjoyed included a profusion of rhododendrons and rarely seen Washington lilies. Berries to munch — red huckleberries and blackberries. Plants to avoid — poison oak! Finishing the hike rash-free were Obsidians Wojtek Szalecki, Mary Millman, Doug Quirk and Rita Johnson and non-members Mary Ann Hastings, Earl Dill, Soliko Juasaki and George Baitinger III. Trip leader: Lynda Christiansen. |
