Rebel Rock LoopJune 29, 1996This was the 12th annual Rebel Loop “Death March”. Despite someone’s posted warning that the trail was dangerous and nearly impassable, we set out to see for ourselves. The first six miles to the first junction was “blowdown hell” for sure, and cost us an extra hour. This section provided occasional trail finding problems and improved our log-crossing skills, but was not impassable for this group of over-achievers. We then followed the cross-country route of previous years. As usual there was no way to avoid the final four mile downhill knee muncher to get to the cars (one knee casualty). A great day with a great group. Hikers were David Euston, Mate Hansen, Dick Hildreth, Joshua Ladau, Herb Lee, Rick Strom, Karin Thompson and Ed Lovegren (leader). |
