Cone Peak/Iron Mountain

The Cone Peak/Iron Mountain loop hike is very special, especially for the profusion of wildflowers. This day they were spectacular even when viewed through wet and steamy glasses. Most of the hike beginning at the Cone Peak trailhead and ending at the Iron Mountain trailhead was misty and wet. The early flowers, trillium and avalanche lilies were past, as was the snow, but the paint brush, larkspur, wallflowers, etc., were profuse. Hikers were: Doris Allen, Max Brown, Barbara Chinn, Kurt Cyrus, Gary Marx, Mary Millman, Dixie & Rich Minkler, Lucy & Dick Rayle, Wayne Westling and leader Mary Ellen West.
