Shotgun Creek

The sky was clear and temperatures were moderate. From the Shotgun Creek recreation site we hiked on the Shotgun Loop and the Meadow Loop Trails. The undergrowth was as lush and as green as you’ll ever see it. Unfortunately, the McGowan Creek Road was blocked and we couldn’t make it to the meadow as we had planned. Instead, we had lunch in an oldgrowth stand in the Mohawk Research Natural Area. Three of us enjoyed the Coburg Hills on this fine day: Nethe Anderson (a student from Denmark), Erik Furchner, and trip leader Dave Predeek.
