Erma Bell LakesJune 15, 1996Twelve hikers enjoyed a beautiful early summer day hiking by the Erma Bell Lakes. At the Upper Erma Bell six hikers decided to hike the loop trail through other lakes and six decided to have lunch at the Upper Erma Bell and hike back the same trail they came up on. These lakes were named for a USFS employee, Miss Erma Bell, who died in an auto accident in 1918; the lakes were named to perpetuate her memory. Hikers this day were Max Brown, Brigitte Cross, Teresita Ladd, Vi Johnson, Ruth & Wayne Lill, Marilyn McCray, Maura McIvor, Mary Millman, Karen Pavelie, Joanne Vinton and trip leader Harold Busby. |
