Sweet Creek Falls Trail

The Sweet Creek Falls Trail, located by Sweet Creek Road near Mapleton, provides wonderful views of falls along a tumbling creek. Spring flowers were blooming everywhere. You could hear beautiful bird songs along all stretches of the trail. Reached in four separate locations, the trail has catwalks, recently repaired after being damaged by this year’s flood, that span a gorge and other rocky sections. This was a leisurely trip because a hiker really needs time to absorb all the beauty this creek offers. A stop at Alpha-bits for refreshments ended a beautiful spring day. Enjoying the trip were Wendy Clarke, Duane & Mary Ann Hastings, Will Johnston, Norma Jones, Janet Levine, Sandra Lewis, Marilyn & Royal Murdock, Ralph Olive, Sig Otto, Judy Sladek, Lydia Smith, Lee Williams, Sy Winiker and Sylvia Harvey, leader.
