Odell Butte

March 1, 1995

This was one of those many winter days when the weather is better on the east side of the Cascades. Odell Butte is just a few miles east of the Cascadian Divide, but that is enough to give it consistently superior weather to points just west, like Willamette Pass. However, on this day, even Odell Butte was shaded by the rapidly passing storm clouds that occasionally sprinkled us with snow. But there was enough sun and enough of a view to keep us all happy. And as always, the ski down was faster but not necessarily easier than the ski up! This strong group of skiers included Michael Allender, Cheryl Berry, Blyth & Russ Carpenter, Andy Dungan, Kent Kullby, Mike Landes and Bill Montgomery (leader).
