Silver Creek FallsFebruary 18, 1995Writing this report two weeks after the hike, I mostly recall how wet we got even though no rain fell during our hike. The stream that makes all the waterfalls was very full of water. The several falls we viewed sprayed us thoroughly; many sections of the trail had been temporarily converted to stream-beds to carry the runoff from various rivulets racing down the hillsides. Our lunches were consumed along the trail on a convenient block wall. When we climbed back up to our cars, we found the Lodge open and a roaring fire in its massive stone fireplace. Hikers were Ralph Olive, Toni Kimbell, Patricia Stein, Carol Waddell and Susan Baker, leader. |
