Paulina Lake/Newberry CraterFebruary 12, 1995The overcast day was without the panoramic vistas that are usually part of this trip, but it was an excellent day nevertheless. The waterfalls were partially frozen and magnificent as always. Snowmobilers were almost non-existent. The run-out from the lodge to the parking lot was probably as good as Oregon powder ever gets. And best of all, by previous arrangement the lodge chef had baked enough hot blueberry and peach and cherry cobbler to go around and no-one had to accept second choice! This seems very important after you have waited a full year to enjoy and traveled so far to get there! Happy participants were Doris Allen, Michael Allender, Cheryl Berry, Lynette Boone, Andy Brtis, Bea Fontana, Janet Hall, Diane Jeffcott, Josh Ladau, Marilyn Marcus, Royal Murdock, Sally Quigley, Sharon Ritchie, Bobbye Sorrels, Clare Tucker, Birgitte Williams and leader Gene Thaxton. |
