Fawn LakeJanuary 21, 1995Ten hardy souls skied three miles into Fawn Lake from the Crescent Lake SnoPark. It was kind of tricky finding the beginning of the trail, and once we did we were able to break trail all the way to the lake. We had a few trees to climb over, or climb under. Dick Hildreth did most of the blazing, then gave the honors to me for the last mile. The return trip was fast, thrilling, and somewhat icy. Some of us had a great time, while others found the snow sticky, fell occasionally and cursed the ice. (I can’t tell you how Cheryl Berry described the trail on our return slide, however it was fairly accurate!) I think everyone had an exciting, challenging day of skiing. Back at the parking lot by 4:30 were Richard Barrar, Joanne Ledet, Ed Lichtenstein, Cheryl Berry, Dick Hildreth, Doris Allen, Sarah Ezell, Rick Wilmath, Susan Bacon and Diane Jeffcott, leader. |
