Fuji Mountain

October 4, 1995

Eight of us took the short trail to Fuji Mountain — three miles round trip. And what a gorgeous day it was! Beginning at the 6,000-ft. level, where we parked, and all the way to the top we had snow. Trail snow varied from ½ to 1½ inches. Trees were covered. Bright blue sky but a strong wind made it nippy. Some clouds over mountains but we could see tip of Mt. Jefferson and south to Thielsen. View of blue Waldo Lake was a special feature. Great trip for Roberta Schmidt, nonmember and first-time hiker with the Obsidians (she has her sights on qualifying as a member before long). Obsidians were John & Lenora McManigal, Mary Millman, Wilma Moore, David Predeek, Margaret Wiese and Catherine Jones (leader).
