Our low turnout may have been low partly because of a mix-up of the published hike date.
But it allowed us to fit comfortably into a single car.
This was conducive to visiting and conversing.
The leader did some tour guiding inasmuch as the others were new to the area.
We visited the Office Bridge in Westfir and saw the gigantic freshwater sturgeons at the Oakridge
We also celebrated Beth’s birthday at the D.Q.
The hike was uphill, followed by more uphill, and finally a v-e-r-y s-t-e-e-p uphill to a ridge
on the rim of the ancient volcano.
From there, we had an aerial view of Waldo Lake.
Some more steep hiking took us to our lunch stop at the top of The Twins.
We had spectacular views in all directions including lakes and mountains on the east side of
Hikers were Beth Pfeiffer, Dave Clements, Jim Averill and Jean Ridone (leader).
