September 4, 1995
This hike begins just west of Odell Lake, through a wilderness area of hemlock and true firs.
Many lakes, three by lunch and perhaps ten after.
We lunched at Yoran Lake, good view of Diamond Peak and Mt. Yoran.
Trip was lengthened by missing Lils Lake while bushwhacking.
Zeroed in on wrong lake and when landmarks cited by W. Sullivan were not present, group voted
to return to Yoran Lake and make a second try for Lils.
This second attempt was successful.
A couple of us got in an extra four miles or so while scouting routes.
(Note: I could have used some lake name signs on this hike!)
I now know that there are several other lakes in the same vicinity as Lils Lake.
Did this same hike a year earlier with no problems.
The remainder of the hike was straight forward, according to plan.
Hikers were Sharon Lindsey, Dondela Higgins, Ann Harvey, Ivan Vandeberg, Gloria Gunderson,
Annette Brosig, Gary Marx and Ben Jeffries, leader.
