Cone Peak/Iron Mountain
July 27, 1995
The Cone Peak/Iron Mountain hike is always a special treat and the group that ventured out on
July 27 were not disappointed.
We were blessed with a gorgeous day and views from Mt. Adams to Diamond Peak.
The wild flowers put on a fine show and helped set the format for many discussions on the diverse
ecosystems along this six-mile hike.
Most of the participants were on their first trip to this area and with the Obsidians.
The trail has seen significant erosion in the switch backs up to the lookout and caution is advised.
Many thanks to Helen Liguori for her help in making this trip a success.
Participants included Nita Moore, John Hanby, Pat Bean, Robin Ewing, Andrea Coukos, Helen Liguori
and Patty Neis, leader.
