Shotgun Creek (Coburg Hills)June 7, 1995This was a pleasant, leisurely day of hiking in the Coburg Hills. We left at the civilized hour of. 9 a.m. under scattered clouds which gave way to sunshine ad we were soon shedding coats. We hiked a clockwise loop up Shotgun Creek to Meadow Trail and back to the picnic area, enjoying the fresh green foliage of this lush rain forest. After lunch we drove up the McGowan Creek Road to check out a wildflower meadow, and then, reluctant to give up the day, continued to an open area atop the Coburgs and gloried in the view of the Willamette Valley spread out before us. A nice day by M. Greg Dean, Mary Millman, Dave Predeek, Lois Weinfeld and trip leader Leona Devine. |
