Veneta BikeApril 23, 1995Six riders met at the Campbell Senior Center on a beautiful day. Sunday, April 23rd was the perfect day to bike. We enjoyed the slight breeze, minimal traffic and especially the opportunity to endure the one-mile gravel road with no auto competition. We all ate at the Dairy Queen with no indigestion reported. All strong riders and dependable bikes, which we especially appreciated after passing by a wreck on West 11th that would delay motorists for several hours… Spirits were high and we made the 40-mile loop in record time. Our camaraderie was enhanced by making the acquaintance of fellow Obsidian Harold Thompson, a well-traveled biker and mountaineer. The rest of our group: Norma Lockyear, Bob Devine, Rose Marie Moffitt and leader Gayle Berge. |
