Cloverpatch Trail

April 8, 1995

April 18 dawned cloudy and rainy with snow at 2000 feet. Three of my co-hikers phoned to cancel and I, too, felt ready to give up the hike and spend a warm and indolent day indoors. Then came a call from indefatigable Anne. She and Blyth were weather-proof and ready for adventure! Once on the trail we found special pleasure in the mix of spring flowers and snow. Anne led us cross-country to explore flower-strewn meadows with better views of the Willamette River Valley. Rain and snow fell most of the day but never enough to seriously dampen and chill us in body and spirit. Happy hikers were Blyth Carpenter, Anne Montgomery and Velma Shirk (leader).
