Willamette Pass

March 19, 1994

Saved by a few inches of new snow, this trip had a few late signees. The sky was blue, the snow spring-like. John (Pilafian) chose to downhill, but Willamette didn’t have its main lift running, so downhill opportunities were limited. Clare (Tucker) and Chuck (Mitchell) went to Rosary Lakes for the first time. They made it to the upper lake and had a good time. The snow was forgiving for the trip down but the ground was showing through in a few places. Trip leader Jane (Hackett) had planned on downhilling, but was overcome by responsibility and guilt and spent the day in the lodge studying cardiac care and watching the icicles fall off the lodge roof.
