’Twas a dark and gloomy day in Willamette Valley and most of the way to Mt. Newberry. Within a few miles of the mountain the sun did appear and this, coupled with more than satisfactory snow, provided a very good ski day. The partially frozen waterfall was majestic as always. We had called ahead to make certain that the lodge had an ample supply of peach cobbler, and we were not disappointed! The baker’s dozen primo participants included Jane Dods, Bea Fontana, Dallas Hemphill, Carol Houdes, Glenn Meares, Chuck Mitchell, Robert Moffitt, Bill Montgomery, Patty Neis, John Pilaflan, Sharon Ritchie, Clare Tucker and Gene Thaxton (leader).
