Gold LakeJanuary 16, 1994It was a beautiful, sunny day, and the snow was a bit crusty, so we took our tumbles going down to the lake trying to slow down. We all enjoyed our lunches by the lake, some on one side and some on the other. Ed and Dan persuaded us to “walk on water”, with ice on top, capped with a thin layer of slick corn snow. The skiing on the lake was fantastic with panoramic views of Mt. Yoran and Diamond Peak. Then up the hill, puff, puff, and out to our cars and home. It was a very nice day. As a matter of fact, it was a lot more enjoyable than sitting at home watching boring football on the “telly”. X-C skiers were: Mary Battin, Dan Bates, Genie Currier, Walter Davis, Christin Jones, Vi Johnson, Dorothy Leland, Ann & Ed Lichtenstein, Allison Major and Parker Riddle (leader). |
